current fixation

Some of you know that lately I have been obsessed with sparrows and as some of you know I am obsessed with google image searches. QED, I have been looking at lots of sparrow photos lately and I just came across this little sport:



She's a hard nut to crack, but I think I like her.

And, yes, I am writing this on a Friday night. I embrace this and you should too.

Contemporaneity is not doing it for me

So, I used to think that I was born 35 years too late for my sensibility. I missed the Stephen Shore, Ed Ruscha, Garry Winogrand, Helen Levitt roadtrip appreciation of and comment on what made America America through the everyday sights. Exhibit A:

But now that I have spent 3 days with Timothy O'Sullivan and William H. Jackson, I wonder if I wasn't born 150 years too late... Exhibit B:
